A Letter of condolences following the loss of the space shuttle Columbia from the Honorable

President of the Republic of Yemen to the Honorable President of the United States of America

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we learned the tragic loss of the space shuttle Columbia this morning.

The loss of the astronauts was a loss to all of humankind and their efforts in furthering our understanding of science and space exploration will never be forgotten.

I ask that you convey my condolences on behalf of the Yemeni people to the families of the victims, and the people of the United States.
