President Saleh Condoles Demise of Pope John Paul II

SANA'A, April 3 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh sent on Sunday a cable of condolence to the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, on the demise of Pope John Paul II, who passed away on the 2nd of April.
In his cable, President Saleh expressed sincere condolences on behalf of the Yemeni people over the death of Pope John Paul II, stating that Pope John Paul II was "the Godfather of the Christian Faith, and an honest keeper of the message of peace."
"The Pope was a man of peace and had honorable stance in protecting justice and freedom," President Saleh added. President Saleh mentioned the contribution of Pope John Paul II in deepening the principles of human rights and spreading peace in the world.
